Hi! My name is Lin and I am currently a second-year Masters student in Computational Linguistics at Georgetown University, where I’m working with Prof. Ethan Wilcox and Prof. Amir Zeldes. I’m affiliated with PICoL and Corpling.
My research interests broadly fall into two categories:
- What can language models and other statistical modeling techniques, informed by theoretical linguistics and psycholinguistics, tell us about human language?
- How can we evaluate and interpret language models and language model-based agents in ways that are rigorous and understandable to humans?

- I did my undergraduate degree in several languages & literatures. Unfortunately, though, some of them have got really rusty. Right now the fluency ranking for my major languages are: Mandarin ~ English > German > Japanese > Cantonese > French.
- I watch a ton of volleyball matches and figure skating competitions in my free time, but I only play badminton at a not-too-bad level (pretending that the racket is an extension of my arm🤓).
- Over the years I’ve accumulated a long playlist of Cantonese ballads and Japanese pop/rock music:) Please ask me for recommendations.
